Last week, one of my favorite pieces was sold. The print was a piece that I created for my wife. It is called “Orange Lily.” The piece represents her inner and outer beauty and reminds her not to compare herself to how other people look, because the beauty she has is pure.
We are always judging ourselves based on other people’s looks, accomplishments, and wealth. But once we embrace who we are, that is when our own beauty will shine.
Needless to say, I had mixed emotions selling it. I was super excited because the print found its new home, but also sad because the print will be gone, and I may not see it again.
It’s like having a child. You see and go through so much with them, and finally, one day, it’s time for them to leave the nest. But you hope that they can spread love, joy, and kindness with what you have taught them.
I am so honored and proud to have had the chance to raise and nurture the Orange Lily, and I hope it brings joy and happiness to its new home.
