It was a beautiful day today for a bike ride. The boys slept in until 8, then got up and we had breakfast. I didn't make my famous smoothies for them today, but I did make them some overnight oats. And let me say, they are delicious.
For the overnight oats, I use about 60 grams of oats, 32 grams of peanut butter, 230 grams of soy milk, one whole banana, and a teaspoon of vanilla extract. In the morning, I add a little honey on top before splitting it between the boys. Sometimes I also cut up some fresh berries to put on top.
After they scarfed all the food down, they were ready to get moving, so we headed out for our fun bike ride adventure. I think we biked about five miles. My youngest always wants to lead the way and be out in front. He always gets too far ahead or goes flying down a hill, but I always tell him that you don't always have to be in front to lead—you can lead from the back, too.
He's also been talking about wanting a new bike with hand brakes, so I guess we know what he's getting for his birthday.
My oldest is always there to help push him forward when he gets tired. I couldn't be more proud of my boys.
